2018 Ford EcoSport First Look Review

Ford revealed the new Ford EcoSport compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) which will deliver enhanced versatility and capability, more elegant styling and sophisticated technologies for customers from Europe, from later this season.

The brand new Ford EcoSport for the first time Provides Ford Intelligent All Wheel Drive technology for improved traction on- and off-road, combined with an advanced new 1.5-liter EcoBlue gasoline engine, delivering around 125 PS and optimized CO2 emissions.

Also Available for the very first time as a sporty, Ford Performance-inspired EcoSport STâ$’Line model, the brand new Ford EcoSport delivers driver support technologies, such as SYNC 3 connectivity, Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter and Rear View Camera.

The EcoSport retains the luminous, pseudo-4×4 styling of the present Model — but updates some tiny details. The grille and front seats have been reshaped and now appear less fussy. The back end has been tidied up with a new, more sculpted bumper and also the removal of this ungainly richly mounted spare wheel.

These photos show an EcoSport at top-spec ST-Line trimming — probably to be The sportiest model offered with big alloy wheels and lower sports suspension. To look the part, ST-Line models get sportier bumpers, a rear spoiler, darkened headlight components, black roof rails and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

The EcoSport provided a higher driving position and extra cabin space compared to this Fiesta supermini. The new version keeps both these attributes, but includes advanced driver aids, including cruise control with an adjustable speed limiter, a rear-view camera, a blind spot tracking system and automatic wipers.

There is also a brand new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system Accessible, shown in the photo above. It is the largest of three displays on offer and supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto. A 10-speaker B&O Play sound system comprising surround sound is an option and the new EcoSport has more airbags than the older model to make it simpler for passengers.

Given how well the rest of the Ford range pushes, the older EcoSport Stood out as being a small letdown. This new version should be more comfortable and refined than before, thanks to enhanced driver aids and reworked managing, but it is still unlikely to handle with the same verve as the Fiesta.

An all-new 1.5-liter diesel engine will be offered producing 125hp and CO2 emissions of 119g/km. It is mated to some six-speed manual gearbox that is also available in all variations of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine. An automatic gearbox can be found on the 125hp 1.0-liter engine, while four-wheel-drive will probably be an option on some models — though most buyers will be better off without it.
