The new Audi A8 introduces the future of this luxury class. In its second generation, the new flagship model also provides the standard for the Vorsprung durch Technik – using a new layout language, an advanced touchscreen operating concept and a systematically hard drive drive. The Audi A8 is also the first production car on the planet to have been developed for highly automated driving. By 2018, Audi will slowly be taking piloted driving functions like parking pilot, garage pilot and traffic jam packed pilot to manufacturing.
2018 Audi A8 Exterior and Interior
The A8’s front fascia was overhauled, as Audi has dropped the rectangular grille for a broader hexagonal design, reshaped both front and back bumpers and additional more defined accent marks into the hood.
Headlights muster to a point as they jut inward and have been upgraded using HD Matrix LEDs and Audi’s trademark laser lighting, while the rear tail light cluster extends across the entire back of the automobile and includes OLED technology. To get a little added flare, then an animation sequence flashes round the headlights and taillights because the driver approaches and walks away.
Take 1 look inside, and it’s clear you’re staring down the future. The dashboard is low and broad, and there’s barely a tangible change to be noticed that there are not only one, not two, but three screens. There’s a display where the gauge audience was, and also a new version of Audi’s MMI infotainment system resides inside the second screen. Just underneath the infotainment system has been your next display, which takes over climate control duties and functions as a writing pad for your own infotainment. Considering that both center-stack screens are touch-capable, there’s no demand for a physical controller to take more dashboard distance.
The second row is equally, if not more, impressive on the long-wheelbase A8L. An executive rear seat setup packs a large removable touchscreen control between the chairs, and there’s enough space back there for an elephant.
2018 Audi A8 Under the Hood
The clutch will feature five engines, such as a diesel- plus a gasoline-powered 3.0-liter V6, a diesel- and – gas-powered 4.0-liter V8 plus a beastly 6.0-liter W12. Even the six-cylinder engine tops out at 340 horsepower, the eight-cylinder peaks in 460 and the power rating in the 12-cylinder has not been made public.
Finally, Audi will incorporate a plug in hybrid Powertrain to the A8, which comprises the 3.0-liter V6 and an electrical motor to reach 449 horsepower. The lithium ion battery may maintain enough electricity for 31 kilometers of pure electric driving.
Audi has also engineered a brand new, flexible all-wheel-drive system for the A8 in addition to a fully active suspension that utilizes artificial intelligence to discover driving conditions and then adjust each wheel separately using electric actuators.
2018 Audi A8 Price and Available
The newest over-engineered German-made A8 will soon be accessible in Germany in late 2017, and will start at 90,600 Euro for the regular A8, also 94,100 for its A8 L. Audi does not mention when we’ll find the vehicle in the U.S., or even how much it really costs.
