Chevy Suburban is brand’s largest, truck-based, full-size SUV which delivers almost unmatched capability when it comes to carrying the passengers and their cargo. The model shares its running gear with the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon and also with GM’s pickups the Silverado and Sierra. For the 2018 model year, the automaker will refresh the offer of the 2018 Chevy Suburban with the new RST (Rally Sport Truck) package which brings some interesting styling and powertrain enhancements.
2018 Chevy Suburban Styling
The new 2018 Chevy Suburban won’t depart from its angular body design and familiar styling elements. For the LT and Premier trim levels, the automaker will offer a refreshing and new RST package which brings some exterior tweaks for a sportier appearance. With the new treatment model gains the gloss-black grille, mirror caps, window trim, roof rails and also Chevy bowtie emblems and RST badges.
2018 Chevy Suburban Interior
Stepping inside one won’t spot any reflection of the exterior changes to the interior styling as this package doesn’t affect the interior design. The interior of this model will continue in the familiar form with nice materials, comfortable seats and impressive cargo capacity. The maximum capacity will be up to 121.1 cubes while behind the middle row will measure 76.7 cu ft. Still impressive 38.9 cubes will be available with all seats up.
The model will, on the other hand, return in tree trim levels LS, LT and Premier of which the last two will offer the new RST package.
Available on the model will be the latest 8-inch touchscreen based MyLink infotainment system with smartphone compatibility. The model will also offer power, heated and ventilated front seats, heated middle row, leather upholstery, rear seat entertainment, etc
The safety aspect will cover active driver aids like the forward collision warning with automatic low-speed braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safety-alert driver seat, lane departure warning and intervention.
2018 Chevy Suburban Under the Hood
In the engine department of the new 2018 Chevy Suburban will be the familiar 5.2-liter V-8 engine. A standard rear-wheel drive comes with a rear locking differential. On the Z71 package, a two-speed transfer case is available with the Max Trailering rig.
However, the RST package will also bring some appealing improvements. The Borla exhaust system features 28 percent exhaust flow improvement for the 7- to 10-hp boost at the rear wheels. The package also means the Brembo brakes with 6-piston red calipers and larger rotors.
What on the other hand will be available on the new Tahoe but we don’t know certain for the new Suburban is the Performance package. If it would be available it would add Magnetic Ride Control suspension, larger 6.2-liter engine and new 10-speed transmission system. The 6.2-liter V-8 can produce 420 hp and torque of 460 lb-ft.
2018 Chevy Suburban Availability and Price
Chevy hasn’t said about other possible upgrades and price of the 2018 Chevy Suburban. We expect this model to be available late this year. Expect the base price from around $50,000 and we hope that Performance package will also be available.
